Congratulations!

You are about to embark on a fun and challenging career in real estate. Individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, positive outlook and the desire to work with clients of all demographics have the opportunity to succeed beyond their dreams.

Now that you’ve successfully passed the state licensing exam, you will want to join our association. Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of REALTORS®, Inc. provides ethical standards, education and training, information and services like Multiple Listing Service (MLS) database access and lockbox system for key security, which will enable you to excel and prosper in the real estate marketplace.

All members of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® (OKCMAR) enjoy the rights and privileges of the title REALTOR® and you can read about our national organization with over 1,300,000 members at www.okcrealtors.org.



About OKCMAR

To become a member of OKMAR and be entitled to use the term REALTOR®, you must:
  • Have a valid license issued by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission or a valid certificate issued by the Oklahoma Real Estate Appraisal Board;
  • Be actively engaged in the real estate profession;
  • Abide by the Bylaws;
  • Uphold the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®;
  • Successfully complete the MLS Basics; MLS Rules & Regulations; New Member Orientation; and Code of Ethics courses within 30 days after joining OKCMAR.
Steps to Join OKCMAR
  1. Successfully pass your provisional sales associate exam at the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission.

  2. Once your Broker has received your real estate license from OREC you can join OKMAR.

  3. The Membership Department will need the MLS Users Agreement signed by your Broker, and either a Supra Active Key Agreement or a Supra eKey Agreement.

  4. Complete the OKCMAR Application for Membership.

  5. Bring all of the above items AND a copy of your real estate license to OKCMAR, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.—5 p.m. We are located at 3131 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.

  6. All membership fees are pro-rated. The amount you will owe upon joining OKCMAR will depend on the month you join. Call the Membership Department to verify the amount you will need to pay. Here’s a list of the total yearly dues:

$244— 2008 State and National Dues
$125— Local Dues
$100—Application Fee (not pro-rated)

Required Courses – Your First 30 Days

All new OKCMAR members must successfully complete the MLS Basics; MLS Rules & Regulations; New Member Orientation; and Code of Ethics courses within 30 days of membership.

MLS Basic and MLS Rules & Regulations classes are routinely offered. Please contact Member Services for schedules.

New Member Orientation and Code of Ethics classes are held on the first and third Thursday of each month. Class begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.
